December 2026 solstice kit - Rock Candy
I'm so excited to announce the December Solstice theme for 2026 is the dazzling world of crystals and gemstones - welcome to Rock Candy!
A feast of depth, sparkle, and colour - gems and crystals are taking centrestage this year! There is something so utterly captivating about the way light moves through a gemstone, the way colour shifts from deep and mysterious to bright and brilliant. And honestly? I think we all deserve a little magic and shimmer right now.
I'm so excited to explore this stunning world of colour, to lean into those gorgeous mineral hues - and present them in a way that feels both magical and completely wearable for you! As always, the colourways will tell a carefully curated story, and be ideal for knitting as a fade straight out of the box. Or you can swap up the order to create some fabulous stripe and colourwork options!
The Solstice calendar will include:
~ 20x 20g mini skeins. They are designed to work together as a beautiful colour story, either in the order intended as a fade, or alternated to create gorgeous stripes or effective colourwork.
~ 1x 100g skein, that coordinates with the minis and makes the whole collection sing!
~ A handmade lined linen project bag - strictly exclusive to this Solstice calendar
~ A couple of quality surprises scattered throughout

The full-sized skein will coordinate with the minis, and be in the same base yarn. This year there is a choice of 3 bases! We have the ever-popular Merlin and Trust, and special guest star Serino!
~Merlin is a luxurious single ply blend of 90% Superwash superfine/ultrafine Merino and 10% Belgian Linen. (72m per 20g skein; 360m per 100g skein)
~Trust is a robust yet delightfully soft 2 ply blend of 80% Superwash superfine Merino and 20% Nylon. (73m per 20g skein; 400m per 100g skein)
~Slinky is an exquisite high twist single ply blend of 70% Superwash superfine Merino and 70% Grade A Mulberry silk (80m per 20g skein; 400m per 100g skein).
All yarn is carefully and lovingly hand dyed by Jo in her solar-powered studio in small-town Aotearoa, New Zealand (Taitoko Levin).
Each skein will come individually wrapped and numbered so you can play along and open a mini skein each day until the full-sized skein to celebrate the Solstice on the 21st… or you can open them all at once, or whenever and in whatever order you like - it's your calendar and you're the boss!!
Delivery will be in the beginning of November, in plenty of time before the countdown to Solstice starts on 1st December.
Preorders for the Solstice are open and will stay open until sold out. Numbers are strictly limited this year and I'm not able to offer a second batch.
